There is something captivating about a hummingbird. Tiny in real life, yet impossible to ignore. In this painting, I've enlarged this remarkable bird to let every feather take centre stage. Layers of soft greens, creamy whites, and rich ruby tones are outlined with bold black lines, creating the luminous stained glass-inspired style that defines my work. Set against a warm sunrise sky, the gentle background allows the hummingbird's intricate patterns to become the focus.

This painting celebrates the quiet beauty found in small things. I have been especially drawn to birds lately, fascinated by the rhythm of their feathers, their delicate movements, and the unmistakable hum of their wings as they dart through the garden. By painting this hummingbird many times larger than life, I wanted to give it the presence it deserves. A reminder that even the smallest creatures can command our attention, filling a space with wonder, warmth, and a sense of peaceful curiosity.
