Sunflower Original Painting 8 x 10 inch

Sunflowers have always felt like small suns growing straight out of the garden. They stand tall, turn toward the light, and carry a kind of quiet confidence that is hard to ignore. I wanted this painting to capture that feeling. The glowing yellows and oranges push forward like warm summer light, while the deep blues and greens behind them create the sense of a garden alive with colour and movement. Painting it felt like bottling a bright afternoon and letting it live on the wall.

I was working on this piece on International Women's Day, and that helped inspire its meaning. As I painted, I kept thinking about the incredible women in my life. Women who are strong, capable, and endlessly supportive. So many of them carry families, friendships, and communities on their shoulders with grace and determination. This painting is a small tribute to that spirit. Like a sunflower reaching for the sun, it celebrates resilience, warmth, and the quiet power of showing up every day for the people we love.
